I compiled this piece from several compositions done over time. Two of them feature a group of Maasai (I'm the one in the middle) from Kenya that I had the pleasure of recording here at Cyan about one year ago. I reworked a few of their chants and added some instrumentation.
What a great group of people! Everyone present at the session that day knew they were observing a once in a lifetime experience.
Some of the other pieces in the montage are from various compositions scored for a few areas in URU that ended up on the cutting room floor. |
